Hello July!
Have you ever had a month other than January that gives you that new year feeling, where you see all the possibilities with a fresh perspective? That's July for me - Reset and refresh. And it feels amazing.
I like to think of arranging and editing of life as similar and visual to arranging things in a room or on a shelf. It takes practise, requires white space and changes depending on your mood, the season, or something new that you've discovered and acquired.
Recently I picked up a fabulous book at Homesense - Arranging Things by Colin King. It's opened my eyes to inspiring ways of viewing my spaces, the objects in them, and embracing the "less is sometimes more" philosophy.
While arranging things, I've also been baking dozens of these Oat flour chocolate chip cookies. They are simple to make, soft, chewy, and everyone in the family loves them!
Perfect for a gluten free summer treat, paired with some vanilla ice-cream for an ice-cream sandwich. Delish.
Tip - chill the dough for at least 8 hours in the fridge...I make the dough in the evening and bake them in the morning...and they come out perfect.
"It may be that when we no longer know what to do, we have come to our real work and when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey." Wendell Berry
Table meadows and flower frogs.
Speaking of arranging, I'm in love with these little flower frogs from Wazakura. (also available on Amazon)
I set them in little glass drinking cups and created a meadow of daisies.
For a simple yet lovely summer dinner party centrepiece, I use the Little Gaia vase filled with blooms from my herb garden.
Here's to enjoying your Sunday morning and embracing this rejuvenating month of July.
chat again soon my dear. stay curious...
Cheers, Kim
